The Dormer E500 is a metric coarse straight flute tap in HSS (High Speed Steel), size 4 mm × 0.7 mm pitch.
This is the second (intermediate) tap in a three-tap tapping set, used after the taper tap when threading blind holes.
Straight flute taps can be used by hand or in a machine and are suitable for tapping through or blind holes in most materials.
The tap is manufactured to ISO 529 and has a Class 2 tolerance for 6H fit.
It features a bright surface finish, straight flute geometry, and a chamfer designation of 2.
The tap measures 53 mm in length and weighs 8 g.
