How it works
Where the prices come from, what we check, and what we don’t do.
1. We pull retailer prices every morning
PriceDrop UK reads product feeds published by UK retailers — currently 21 of them, 7,326 products live today. Feeds arrive at 6am and every page on the site is rebuilt from them, so a price you see was true this morning. We link to the retailer for the actual purchase; we never sell anything ourselves.
2. We compare against two references
A deal only makes the site if today’s price is genuinely below one of two things: the retailer’s own RRP, or the current price of the same product on Amazon UK. Retailers sometimes list inflated RRPs to make discounts look larger; comparing against Amazon as well catches that.
3. We keep the history
Every product we list gets its price recorded daily. That’s why deal pages can tell you “lowest we’ve seen” or “was £749 on 30 Aug” — it’s our own record, not the retailer’s claim. The longer we track something, the more that line is worth.
4. We drop what doesn’t hold up
Products where the retailer and Amazon listings don’t match, discounts that look implausible, and retailers with poor delivery or authenticity records are removed before anything is published. We vet every retailer we list; several have been excluded.
5. How we’re paid
Some links are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, the retailer pays us a small commission at no cost to you. It doesn’t change the price you pay and it doesn’t change which deals we show — ranking is by the size and genuineness of the drop. We don’t list voucher codes and we don’t run cashback. Full disclosure.
Before you buy
Prices move. Confirm the price on the retailer’s site, and check delivery and returns. If a price on our site is wrong, tell us and we’ll fix it.
