Manufactured from a Cobalt-based HSS (M42), a premium grade high speed tool steel, heat treated to surpass the hardness of other HSS materials.
The increased cobalt content helps retain hardness at elevated temperatures.
This increased hot hardness makes the material especially suited for machining stainless steels and temperature resistant alloys.
It also gives the material increased wear resistance needed for machining in highly abrasive cutting applications.
M42 is also a very tough grade and can therefore cope with the most aggressive applications in most materials.
